Why Autumn Is the Best Season for Dog Walks 🍁
It’s feeling super autumny today, so I thought I’d share why this time of year is hands down my favourite for dog walking.
After dodging the busy beaches all summer long, we finally get them back. No more crack-of-dawn missions just to avoid the crowds — the kids are back at school, the visitors have headed home, and at last it’s safe to let the dogs off lead without them pestering beachgoers or eyeing up someone’s picnic. Bliss.
It’s also stubble field season, which means endless new fields to explore, and those overgrown summer paths are cut back again. Couple that with cooler weather — no stressing about it being too hot for the dogs — and honestly, what’s not to love? And let’s be real, coats are back too… and show me a dog walker that doesn’t secretly love the return of extra pockets.
The colours of autumn are stunning, the leaf piles are made for play, and the whole season is a sensory playground of new sights, sounds and smells. We’re not quite at the muddy stage yet — just those crisp, bright, golden days that make walks a total joy.
And of course, it all ends with tired pups, cosy fires, pumpkin spice candles, and chilled autumn nights. Hard to beat. I’m Scottish though and I love every season — but autumn will always win for dog walks.
When it comes to apparel, it’s definitely for some but not for all. My two Spaniels couldn’t care less about a jumper or raincoat. Lilibet, on the other hand, loves them all — a cosy jumper, a snazzy raincoat, even pyjamas.
We’ve pulled together literally the most stylish autumn collection — perfect for the four-legged trendsetters. From cosy layers to stand-out raincoats, it’s everything your pup needs to look the part this season. Shop the collection and find their next favourite fit 🐾🍂✨
